About the Logistics Supervisor Role
The Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving Logistics is responsible for preparing shipping documentation for freight and inventory management of finished product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Schedule and assign daily loading and unloading duties to operators and staff.
Oversee scale house operations.
Prepare shipping documentation for freight.
Performs inventory management of finished projects.
Set up layout and assure efficient shipping and receiving process.
Oversees operations personnel needs including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
Investigates, reviews and controls implementation of safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
Ensure load compliance to daily schedule.
Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products or personnel.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes:
- Direct supervision of 7-10 full-time employees, including: operations specialists, forklift operators, & yard jockey)

Education and Experience
Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirements).
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Shipping and receiving logistics.
Computer skills.
Supervisory experience.
