WM HR Data Optimization Analyst III in Houston, Texas
WM is seeking a strategic-minded Business Analyst to support the optimization of our HR processes as part of our technology transformation. This role will play a vital part in advancing the quality and reliability of HR data, streamlining data management practices, and ensuring accuracy across HR systems. You’ll lead efforts to analyze data processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to enhance overall HR operations and data integrity.
I. Job Summary
The Business Data Analyst plays a key role in managing and analyzing HR data, developing internal reports, and generating insights to drive informed decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with HR and cross-functional teams to maintain data accuracy, automate reporting processes, and deliver metrics that support strategic initiatives.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data on process performance, focusing on identifying trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Identify opportunities to streamline data processes, automate report generation, and enhance data analysis efficiency leveraging tools such as Power BI.
Collaborate with data analytics teams to ensure accurate and seamless integration of HR data for broader organizational reporting.
Support the design of custom metrics and ad hoc reports to meet emerging business needs.
Assist HR teams by providing data-driven insights that inform strategic initiatives and workforce planning.
Support data validation efforts to maintain high data integrity across the organization.
Participate in meetings to share insights, discuss challenges, and contribute to project progress work to ensure quality, timeliness and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
Will coach and mentor less experienced team members and act as team leader on more complicated systems projects.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or similar area of study or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
Experience: 5 (five) years of experience in business data analysis or related fields, with a demonstrated track record of process improvement.
Preferred Experience: Prior experience with Oracle HCM (or equivalent HR system) and ServiceNow
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Advanced knowledge or skills in one or more of the following required:
Advanced understanding of data governance principles, including data accuracy, consistency, and security.
Advanced in using Excel for data analysis tasks, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and VBA for automation.
Advanced Excel skills: familiarity with SQL or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
May require advanced skills in one or more of the following:
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement orientation
